kind of world that it leaves to its children.”

In One Strength - Our Lives - Eric Glassey

Ultimately, anger is a prison, you’re stuck in it and can’t experience anything else.

At the death of someone we love or other misfortunes in our lives.

-In our time of greatest need we turn away because an event happened that was beyond the world that we sought. We can either run from the pain or find the lessons hidden in it.

This book is a first step and an invitation to build something new, leaving behind the dogmas and factionalism that have created thousands of years of suffering and strife between peoples and beliefs.

The ego seeks the entertainments of this life; the soul seeks the connection to something greater.

If you think this is a terrible life, then it’s terrible. If you think this is a good life, then it’s good. Either way, you will be right, which is the better way to feel? One is rejecting the life given; the other is accepting it.

Loneliness is separation from ourselves, aloneness is separation from others. Loneliness means that we are separated from who we really are. Becoming centered within ourselves and leaving behind behaviors that are not beneficial to us are the first steps in building all the disparate parts of ourselves into one being.

People spread what is inside them. If it’s anger and resentment, then they will leave a trail behind them of the pain and anxiety they have created. If they are at peace, then they will leave behind them quiet, healing and love.

We do not need to teach men to be better men or to teach women to be better women; we need to learn to be better human beings. Our humanity is far more important than our gender.

When you are finally exhausted from running from yourself, stop and look inside.

You can live on this earth as a two-dimensional being. You can have length and width, which means you occupy space but are lacking a third dimension. Lacking this means you lack depth, so you don’t understand beyond what you experience in this world as well as height, which allows you to rise above what is around you.

Knowing yourself-That you are more than just a personality or a set of characteristics. They are just the tip of who you are. You have a subconscious that will guide you in your thinking and lead to greater depth. Knowing yourself is also figuring out where you fit into the world. You cannot know the universe until you know yourself.
